L’Art Campus de Surfrider Foundation Europe accueille exceptionnellement trois artistes à l’occasion du Pavillon Océan ! 🌊
Deux artistes locaux, Mister RIDE et Fede Sanchez, en résidence depuis juin, ont réinvesti les conteneurs présents sur le parking de Surfrider pour leur donner une nouvelle identité. Le conteneur en tant qu’objet véhicule de nombreux symboles sur notre société de consommation, le transport maritime et la problématique de la perte de conteneurs.
🌿Xavier Ride aka « Mister Ride” présentera World in Progress, une œuvre reprenant les chimères de l’Odyssée, poème séminal de la civilisation européenne, submergés dans la réalité de nos continents de plastiques. Il utilise lui du gazon recyclé 🌱 et revêtira le conteneur de façades vertes, rappelant la nature et le lien entre terre et mer. Cet artiste qui se décrit comme un artiste environnemental, a notamment réalisé la fresque « les Singes Oxymores » pour Le M.U.R. Biarritz.
🚢 Federico Sanchez aka « Le Chien Vert » présentera une œuvre en lien avec son imaginaire personnel et avec l’océan. 🎨 Cet artiste peintre autodidacte s’appuie sur la géométrie et la couleur pour redonner du sens aux liens entre humains.
L’espace intérieur de l’Art Campus sera investi par Esteban Richard designer / plasticien, un artiste brestois qui réalise des totems à partir de déchets aquatiques ramassés sur les plages.

The Art Campus of Surfrider Foundation Europe hosts exceptionally three artists for the Ocean Pavilion! 🌊
Two local artists, Mister RIDE and Fede Sanchez, in residence since June, have reinvested the containers of the Surfrider parking to give them a new identity. The container as an object carries many symbols on our consumer society, maritime transport and the problem of the loss of containers.
Xavier Ride aka « Mister Ride » will present a work resuming the chimeras of the Odyssey, seminal poem of the European sivilization, submerged in the reality of our continent of plastic.
He uses turf and covers the containers with green facades, reminding nature and the link between land and sea. This artist, who describes herself as an environmental artist, has created the fresco » The Oxymorous Monkeys « for the M.U.R. Biarritz.
Federico Sanchez aka « The Green Dog » will present a work related to his personal imagination and the ocean. This self-taught painter relies on geometry and color to give meaning to human relationships.
The interior space of the Art Campus will be invested by Esteban Richard, a Brest artist who creates totems from aquatic waste collected on the beaches in collaboration with Surfrider.
